Fair Media Council: Improve Your Social Media Skills at Boot Camp July 14
Oceanside, NY - May 1, 2017 - Looking to take your social media game to the next level? Then get your ticket now for the Fair Media Council’s annual Summer Social Media Boot Camp.
Here’s what you can expect from the half-day program on July 14: A host of expert speakers providing real-time advice on a range of topics vital to the success of every business, nonprofit and entrepreneur using social today. The relaxed atmosphere is especially conducive to learning, sharing and connecting, so everyone feels welcome and gets the most out of the program. A dress code of shorts and flip flops further emphasizes the ‘social’ personality of the event. Combined, these elements have ensured FMC’s event now enjoys the status of being not only Long Island’s largest social media boot camp, but one of the region’s favorite summer events.
“Attendees love the atmosphere and really feel they connect with the speakers and each other,” said Jaci Clement, Fair Media Council CEO and Executive Director. “The added bonus is that the good vibe helps people ask questions they wouldn’t in a more formal atmosphere.”
This year’s hand-picked speakers include Edelman’s Steve Rubel, an industry thought leader with exceptional presentation skills and an ability to distill the latest best practices into a checklist of to-do items once you’re back in the office; Ben Mevorach, 1010WINS’ news and programming director, who will take the audience behind the scenes of how one of the best news radio stations in the country has turned to social media to further raise awareness of one of the biggest issues of our time: the heroin epidemic; Chris Dessi, an incredibly engaging speaker and accomplished branding pro, will walk event participants through his tried-and-true formula for creating a brand that’s not only memorable, but remarkable. In addition, social media award winners will offer ‘5 for 5’: 4 tips of creating a successful campaign — and one lesson learned.
The event happens on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 7.30 a.m. to 12 noon in the state-of-the-art South Nassau Communities Hospital Conference Center in Oceanside, N.Y. Parking is plentiful and the LIRR station is about one mile away, making every style of commuting easy. Use the Google map here to scout out the locale. This year’s event will be broadcast via Periscope and Facebook. Tweeting throughout the morning is encouraged: Use hashtag is #FMCSummerSM.
Breakfast and refreshments are served throughout the morning. After the event, attendees are invited to take advantage of the fact that Freeport’s Nautical Mile is simply a few minutes away, and the perfect spot for an al fresco lunch and afternoon shopping.
Tickets to attend the Fair Media Council’s Summer Social Media Boot Camp are $250, and the majority of the ticket price is tax deductible.
