AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. West Hempstead, NY - May 2nd, 2014 - The Fourth Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Friday, May 02, 2014 at 12:15 a.m. in West Hempstead.

According to detectives, a male victim, 22 years of age, was walking on Cleveland Street near the intersection of Glenwood Road when he was approached by three male black subjects. The first subject is described as between 16-18 years old, average build, 5’8” – 5’9” tall, wearing a black hoodie, and black and gray sweat pants. There is no additional description of the second subject, and the third subject is approximately 16-18 years old, 5’8” tall wearing a dark hoodie. The first subject displayed a black semi-automatic weapon in his waistband while the other two subjects removed the victim’s cellphone, back pack, wallet and credit card. They fled northbound on Cleveland Street towards Sylvan Drive. There were no injuries reported.
