AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. SCPD Looking for Suspect in Multiple Robberies

A man is wanted in connection to a robberies of a dollar store, diner, and restaurant.

Patchogue, NY - May 2, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who burglarized three businesses last month. 
 
A man broke a glass door and entered the Dollar Tree, located at 167 North Service Road, Patchogue, and fled without proceeds on April 3 at approximately 2:55 a.m. A short time later, the suspect broke a side door and entered Metropolis Diner, located at 1711 Route 112, Medford, and stole cash from a register at approximately 3:30 a.m. The following day, the man broke into Chachama Grill, located at 655 Montauk Highway, East Patchogue, and took money from the register at 3:15 a.m.
 
The suspect was described as black, approximately 6 feet tall and thin to medium build.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
