Suffolk County, NY - May 1, 2015 - Hundreds of members of the Suffolk County Police Athletic League enjoyed a fantastic opportunity to play basketball on an NBA court before watching a game at the Barclays Center last month.
Three hundred kids, between the ages of 6 and 18, from Amityville, Huntington, Bay Shore, Brentwood and Central Islip were accompanied by Suffolk County PAL Police Officer Ed Groce, Suffolk County Community Liaison Officer Claudia Delgado and parents to the Brooklyn arena where they spent time playing on the court before watching the Brooklyn Nets and the Washington Wizards pregame practice on April 10.
Following the practice, some of the kids stood on the court and greeted players as they were introduced onto the court at the start of the game. PAL members and parents watched the Nets win 117-80.
