Babylon, NY - May 1, 2015 - On April 30, 2015, the New York State Police - Brentwood-BCI, with the assistance of the Violent Felony Warrant Squad and the US Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Antoine Smiley, age 38, of Bay Shore, NY on several charges, including Robbery 1st Degree and Assault 2nd Degree.
This investigation began on April 27, 2015 when New York State Troopers responded to Exit 37 of the Southern State Parkway, Town of Babylon, NY. A passing motorist observed an injured female at this location and contacted 911. When Troopers arrived at the scene they found a seriously injured female who was rendered aid and transported to a nearby hospital. Investigation revealed that Smiley, who is currently on parole, had violently assaulted and robbed the victim and left her on the side of the road.
Smiley was apprehended by the US Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force without incident, processed by the New York State Police and detained awaiting arraignment.
