Freeport Man Charged with Kidnapping, Assaulting Female Acquaintance, Officials Report

Roosevelt, NY - May 4, 2018 - The First Squad reports the arrest of a Freeport man for kidnapping that occurred on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Roosevelt.
 
According to detectives, Thomas Beeks, 32, got into a verbal argument with a 21 year old female acquaintance in her vehicle on Oak Street. At this time, the defendant pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the leg, causing a laceration. The defendant then ordered the victim to drive to his house where he punched her in the eye and threatened her with scissors. A short time later, the defendant allowed the victim to drive to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries. Beeks fled the hospital in the victim’s car. He was arrested without incident on May 3rd at 7:40 p.m.
 
Thomas Beeks is charged with Kidnapping 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree, Petit Larceny, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, two (2) Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Aggravated Family Offense and Assault 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, May 04, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
