Gordon Heights, NY - May 6th, 2015 -  SCPD Sixth Precinct Community Liaison Officer Mike O'Neill and COPE Officers Will Gibaldi and Todd Bradshaw celebrated Cinco de Mayo with children in Gordon Heights by conducting a cooking class at the St. Michael's Recreation Center on Wilson Ave.

Boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 attended the class where they were taught how to make a cucumber/dill salad and chicken quesadillas by volunteer chef Chris Richards and his wife Joann Richards of CJs American Grill of Mattituck.

Chef Richards educated the children in kitchen safety and necessary equipment as well as food preparation and cooking techniques while the officers assisted the young chefs as they made their meal.

The Sixth Precinct Community Outreach Officers have three additional cooking classes scheduled at St. Michaels in May.
