Birdies Golf Simulator Bar Opens in Patchogue
A cocktail lounge that also has golf simulator games or a golf simulator bar with a great bar. Birdies opened in Patchogue this February and strives to be both, depending on your pleasure. Sure, it’s probably more of a golfers playground than your average partier’s paradise but with the popularity of fun golf simulation establishments that combine with food and drink service (see Top Golf) Birdies might be more accessible to some one who has never picked up a set of clubs before on and actual green in real life.

According to Newsday, the owners Ashley Kost and Andy Kovacs put together this idea during the pandemic as a “passion project.” There are six bays that can simulate over 150 courses for all ages. Serious golfers can take lessons, get fittings, join leagues and make use of their advanced golf simulator technology. Bays include sitting areas with tables and chairs and a place to hang your bag.
The owners haven’t left out the good times. The cocktail lounge features a classic Art Deco look with comfy booths, tables and chairs, and a long bar complete with taps topped with golf balls. It’s open, airy and inviting. The cocktails are slung by a bartender who, according to the Newsday story, was lured from Brooklyn to Patchogue. There is also a beer garden out back. Food is also imported but only across the way from Rhum.
