Massapequa Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Victim Multiple Times with Hammer

The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Massapequa man for an Assault that occurred on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2:40 a.m. in Seaford.
 
According to Detectives, Police responded to a residence located at 2299 Spruce Street for a disturbance involving a physical altercation between two individuals known to each other. The investigation revealed defendant Mark Moran, 61, did strike male victim, 64, multiple times with a hammer, causing deep lacerations to his head and surrounding areas.
 
The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment. The hammer was recovered. Defendant Moran was placed under arrest without further incident.
 
The defendant is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree and Assault 2nd degree. Defendant Moran was arraigned on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
