AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The toll free number is 1 800 5 3 5, 1 3 4 5.

Bethpage, NY - May 13th, 2015 - Bethpage-headquartered Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD), a leading Long Island based not-for-profit agency devoted to supporting the pursuit of an enviable life for children and adults with autism, learning and other developmental disabilities, is proud to announce the appointment of Edward Murphy of Garden City to its Board of Trustees.

Mr. Murphy, who has served on ACLD’s Development Committee since 2013 and was recently appointed as an ACLD Community Trust Trustee, is a Financial Advisor with the Advanced Advisor Group of Ameriprise Financial Services (formerly American Express Financial Advisors, Inc.) in Garden City, New York. The group has received elite recognition as an Ameriprise Platinum Financial Services Practice.

“We are thrilled to have Ed on the ACLD Board of Trustees,” said Joseph J. Ortego, President of ACLD’s Board of Trustees.  “He has great passion for our mission, and his business expertise is of great value to the agency and the individuals we serve.”

A Certified Fund Specialist, Mr. Murphy earned an MBA from the School of Business Administration at Adelphi University and has an undergraduate degree from the College of Business Administration at the University of South Florida.
