Suffolk Police: Shirley Woman Killed When Vehicle Struck Rear of School Bus

East Patchogue, NY - May 10, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a Shirley woman in East Patchogue on Thursday, May 10, 2018.
 
Jennifer Dowling was driving a 2017 Nissan Armada eastbound on Sunrise Highway Service Road when her vehicle struck the rear of a 2013 Blue Bird full size school bus that was parked on the shoulder near Washington Avenue at approximately 8:25 a.m.
 
Dowling, 38, of was transported to Long Island Medical Center in East Patchogue where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the bus, Thomas Noble, 64, of Shirley, who was alone on the bus, was not injured.
 
Motor Carrier Safety Section officers conducted a safety check on the bus at the scene and the Nissan was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
