AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. NCPD reports the arrest of Peter Burke of Cold Spring Harbor, 53, for Grand Larceny.

Westbury, NY - May 1, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Cold Spring Harbor man for Grand Larceny that occurred from March 1, 2013 through January 13, 2017 in Westbury.
 
According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, Peter Burke, 53, was employed by Dick Robinson Media. He recruited students, enrolled students and handled student accounts. An investigation determined Peter Burke accepted and kept cash payments from students which were meant for the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. The school reported a loss in excess of $220,000 dollars. Burke was arrested without incident.
 
Defendant Peter Burke is charged with Grand Larceny 2nd degree and will be arraigned on Thursday, May 11, 2017 in First District Court, Hempstead.
