Cops: Uniondale Man Tased, Arrested While Burglarizing Roosevelt Field Mall Bloomingdale’s

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 10:54 PM in East Garden City.
 
According to Detectives, Officers along with store security responded to an alarm at Bloomingdale’s located in the Roosevelt Field Mall 630 Old Country Road. Officers observed Robert Ardoin, 45, of 1069 Tulsa Street in the store after hours tampering with a cash register. The defendant refused multiple verbal commands while holding a metal crowbar over his head. Officers had to utilize an Electronic Control Device (ECD), Taser, which successfully allowed officers to place him into custody. The subject was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. 
 
Subsequent to the investigation it was determined that Ardoin was responsible for damaging fifteen (15) cash registers and removing approximately $3,000.00 USC belonging to Bloomingdale’s during this incident. Upon further investigation, the Third Squad has linked the defendant to two additional burglaries at the following locations:
 
  • 03/04/2021 – Macy’s – 630 Old Country Road
  • 05/02/2023 – Bloomingdale’s – 630 Old Country Road
 
Defendant Robert Ardoin is charged with three (3) counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Menacing a Police Officer, two counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, and Possession of Burglar Tools. He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
