FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM EDT THIS MORNING * WHAT...Ongoing flooding caused by excessive rainfall. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following county, Suffolk. * WHEN...Until 1030 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of standing water. Numerous basements and several ground level structures remain flooded. Isolated sinkholes are possible. In addition, flooding along creeks, streams, ponds, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 438 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 6 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue into the morning commute, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mangano: "Reach For The Stars Teen Talent Search" To Return To Eisenhower Park This July

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano has announced that the very popular “Reach for the Stars Teen Talent Search” will be returning to the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park this July.

East Meadow, NY - May 12, 2015 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano has announced that the very popular “Reach for the Stars Teen Talent Search” will be returning to the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park this July. Two winners from prior year competitions have moved on to American Idol fame: Kevin Covais in 2003 and Robbie Rosen in 2009.

The competition will be for solo vocal talent only. One hundred and twenty contestants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis from applications received. Applications must be postmarked by May 22, 2015. Auditions will be held on June 16, 2015, by appointment only; there will be no open call.

All contestants must be at least 13 but no older than 19 years of age on the day of the finals, July 20, 2015. All applications must be accompanied by copies of proofs of age and Nassau County residency, as well as photo ID and $25.00 check, made payable to: Friends of Nassau County Recreation. Originals of all proofs must be presented at audition.

Applications may be obtained at any Nassau County Park or Museum, and all Nassau County libraries. Applications have also been distributed throughout the community. Auditions and Finals will be held at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, operated by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums.
