Looks like Mother Nature is giving us a gift this Mother’s Day! The ongoing geomagnetic storms will intensify again on Sunday, May 12th, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center.

 

“Severe to extreme geomagnetic storming is possible again later today,” NOAA reported.

Weather services say that, although it’s cloudy and drizly now, there is a chance that things will clear up later tonight.

 

“As the geomagnetic storm continues, it's forecast to intensify again later this afternoon so hopefully we will get to see the northern lights tonight,” reported Islandwide Weather on its Facebook page at around 10:30 am. “Our skies should be improving by 10pm, so you star gazers may get to see a decent display.”

 

 

If you missed it over the weekend or it was too cloudy last night, you still have another shot tonight.
