Legislator Anker Celebrates Paws of War Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting in Nesconset

Nesconset, NY - May 13, 2016 - On Saturday, May 7th Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined Paws of War at the grand opening and ribbon cutting for their new location in Nesconset (127-19 Smithtown Boulevard).

Paws of War in a not-for-profit organization dedicated to training and placing rescue dogs with military veterans and first responders who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Dori Scofield, founder of Save-A-Pet in Port Jefferson Station, and Rob Misseri created Paws of War in order to provide independence and support to those United States Military Veterans who suffer from the emotional effects of war. Community members, first responders, and elected officials gathered to celebrate the grand opening.

“I am so proud to support Paws of War and the excellent work they do to help our local veterans and emergency personnel,” said Legislator Anker. “Thank you to Dori, Rob, and all the volunteers who dedicate their time to make this organization a success.”
