NCPD: Man Arrested for Robbing Nail Salon

East Meadow, NY - May 13, 2014 - Robbery Squad reports details of the arrest of an Islip man for Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 1:05 p.m. in East Meadow.
 
According to detectives, on December 28, 2013, a male white subject, 5’7”, thin build, wearing blue hoodie and a black ski mask entered Tony’s Angel Nails, located at 3030 Merrick Road displayed a black handgun and demanded money from the cash register.  The subject removed undetermined amount of US currency from cash register and fled on foot across Merrick Road.   There were three customers and one employee in the salon at this time.  There were no injuries reported.
 
On Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 1:05 p.m. Robbery Squad detectives arrested Salvatore Scimeca, 55, of 255 Islip Boulevard at Nassau County Jail and charged him with Robbery 1st degree.  He was arraigned on May 9, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
