AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The Third Squad reports the details of an arrest for Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 6:30 pm in Greenvale.

Greenvale, NY - May 14, 2015 - The Third Squad reports the details of an arrest for Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 6:30 pm in Greenvale.                                           

According to detectives, a 72 year old female victim was putting packages into her vehicle at 90 Northern Boulevard when a male subject grabbed her from behind, put a knife to her throat and pushed her halfway into the vehicle.  The subject then forcibly removed the victims’ ring.  The subject then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

After an investigation through DNA left at the scene, detectives were able to arrest Benis Solis, 24, of 450 East 184th Street, Bronx at his home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 without incident. 

Defendant Solis is being charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
