Mount Sinai, NY – May 2013 – On Thursday, April 18, Legislator Anker recognized Mount Sinai resident Kate Stansbury at her district office. Kate participated in the Joining Forces initiative, a national movement that calls upon Americans to step up and show their gratitude to members of the armed forces and their families.
As part of her service, Kate coordinated free swimming lessons for children of military families at School of Fish Swim and Scuba in Rocky Point. In addition to marketing the lessons, Kate also created lesson plans and provided her water safety skills by acting as a lifeguard.
“Our members of military families deserve our utmost gratitude and respect,” said Legislator Anker. “Kate has shown a tremendous appreciation for our men and women of the armed forces by providing their children with swimming lessons.”
