New Cassel Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Struck by Taxi, Officials Report

Police responded to transport the victim to a nearby local hospital for treatment.

The Homicide Squad is investigating a serious auto accident involving a bicyclist that occurred in New Cassel.
 
According to police, a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Taxi Cab operated by a 48 year old male, was travelling eastbound on Prospect Avenue. A 59 year old bicyclist who was also travelling east on Prospect Avenue, suddenly left the bicycle lane,  cut in front of the taxi cab, causing himself to be struck in front of 914 Prospect Avenue.  
 
The taxi cab driver stayed at the scene and called 911. The police responded to transport the male bicyclist to a nearby local hospital for treatment. He is listed in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
