Despite most of the needed equipment inaccessible and probably destroyed or damaged due to a storage unit fire last week, The Scott J. Beigel Memorial Fund held its 2nd Annual Buckets 4 Beigel Basketball Tournament at North Shore Day Camp on Saturday May 11th. With the help of local businesses, Buckets4Beigel was able to go forward.
Buckets 4 Beigel raises funds for the Scott J. Beigel Memorial Fund through an all-day round robin style tournament. Participating camps include Tyler Hill, Timber Lake, Chen-O-Wanda, Pontiac, Trails End, Greylock, and Kennybrook. Families and friends cheer on the games throughout the day. Many thanks to Matthew Cohen who helps organize the event.
"It means everything to me and to the people at the fund to be able to host Buckets 4 Beigel, despite all of the complications, for the camp community which has been through so much in recent years." said Matthew Cohen.
“I am proud to host Buckets 4 Beigel, where campers compete and raise funds for this noble cause,” remarked Jay Jacobs, owner of TLC Camps.
The Scott J. Beigel Memorial Fund is changing the lives of children through Scott's legacy. The fund is a 501(c)(3) organization.
