The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a West Hempstead man for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:20 am in Roosevelt.
 
According to Detectives, defendant Saul Agraz Morales, 20, contacted the male victim, 82, at his Ohio residence. On Tuesday, May 14, 2019 Saul informed the victim his granddaughter was arrested. The defendant instructed the victim to send $9,200 dollars to a Roosevelt address. The defendant explained the money was for bail and would allow his granddaughter to be released from jail. The victim complied and sent the money. The victim became concerned and contacted the police.
 
A thorough investigation was conducted and the defendant was arrested when he took the package containing the money sent by the victim.
 
Defendant Saul Agraz Morales is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree (Attempt). The defendant will be arraigned on Thursday, May 16, 2019 in First District Court, Hempstead.
