Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in Blue Point on Sunday, May 19.
 
A man driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on Montauk Highway veered off the roadway and struck a curb at Division Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. The vehicle continued eastbound, struck a telephone pole, and overturned multiple times.
 
The driver was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
