AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT MONDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The Missing Persons Squad reports a Missing Juvenile which occurred Friday, May 20, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in Westbury.

Daisy Mendoza, 14, of Westbury, has been reported missing since May 20, 2016. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 1-800-244-TIPS, 516-573-7347, or call 911.

Update - June 14, 2016 - Missing Persons Squad detectives report that the above Missing Juvenile has returned home and is in good condition.

Westbury, NY - May 20, 2016 - The Missing Persons Squad reports a Missing Juvenile which occurred Friday, May 20, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in Westbury.

According to detectives, Daisy Mendoza, 14, was last seen at Bunkyreid Park on Railroad Avenue and Urban Avenue. She is described as Hispanic, 5’0” tall, 125 lbs., brown hair, wearing dark pants and white sweater.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this juvenile to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or the Missing Person Squad at 516-573-7347. All callers will remain anonymous.
