The sixth squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 1:01 AM in Glen Cove.
According to Detectives, Defendant Xavier Diaz, 20, of 732 Dale Place, was at the CVS located at 201 Glen Street when he ordered employees to open two cash registers, reached over and removed money from them and fled the scene in a 2015 Chrysler. Officers observed the defendant’s vehicle and initiated a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop on Glen Cove Road near the intersection of Northern Boulevard.
The defendant then fled from the traffic stop southbound on Glen Cove Road and was later placed into custody after crashing his vehicle on Glen Cove Road into the Meadowbrook Parkway overpass. The defendant was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Xavier Diaz is charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The defendant was issued an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
