Nassau County Executive Bruce A. Blakeman joined Uniondale High School officials, students, elected officials, coaches and members of the community to honor new UFC Bantamweight Champion, and Uniondale Native Aljamain Sterling with a motorcade and rally on Monday, May 23.

 

The County Executive proclaimed May 23rd “Aljamain Sterling Day” in Nassau County

 

After a 13-month absence from the sport, 32-year-old Nassau resident Aljamain Sterling recently made a triumphant return against rival Petr Yan in their bantamweight unification title fight.

 

Residents lined the streets for the motorcade and joined at the High School for the rally.
