The Third Squad reports the Arrest of an East Meadow man on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 1:25pm in East Garden City.
According to Detectives, Officers were in the Tory Burch Store located at 630 Old Country Road conducting an investigation regarding previous larcenies from the store when at approximately 1:22pm Defendant David Wayne Thompson, 53, of 1485 Front Street Apt. 42 East Meadow entered the store.
The Defendant was observed concealing handbags into a blue bag that he was carrying; the defendant passed all points of purchase and exited the store without rendering payment for the concealed merchandise. Officers detained the Defendant outside of the store and placed him under arrest without incident.
The proceeds valued at $1794.00 US currency were recovered.
Subsequent to the investigation, Defendant David Wayne Thompson was charged with four additional larcenies from the same Tory Burch store.

Defendant David Wayne Thompson is charged with five counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
He is additionally charged with two Nassau County open warrants issued on February 1, 2023: October, 21, 2022 1:21pm Petit Larceny 3577 Long Beach Road Oceanside and January 17, 2023 12:45am Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree Hempstead New York.
