Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Girl Scouts of Suffolk County recently installed its new Chair of the Board of Directors, Donna Smeland, at its 48th Annual Meeting at Camp Edey in Bayport, NY.

Bayport, NY - May 25, 2016 - Girl Scouts of Suffolk County recently installed its new Chair of the Board of Directors, Donna Smeland, at its 48th Annual Meeting at Camp Edey
in Bayport, NY.
Ms. Smeland has served as a Board Member on the Girl Scout Board of Directors since 2012 and has also served on several Board committees including Board Development, Golf Classic and Strategic Learning.

Ms. Smeland is a free-lance producer, with more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, and has produced countless hours of television for such networks as ABC, NBC, PBS, MTV, VH1, IFC, Sundance Channel and Comedy Central. She was an active Girl Scout from Brownie through Senior level, as well as an adult volunteer, and attributes much of her success to the opportunities presented to her through Girl Scouting.

“We are delighted to welcome Donna as our new Chair of the Board,” says Yvonne Grant, President & CEO for Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. “Donna’s passion and enthusiasm for Girl Scouting will be a tremendous asset to our council’s goals and initiatives in Suffolk County.”
