Written by Long Island  |  25. May 2022

Nassau County Executive Bruce A. Blakeman announced that Nassau County will once again host a Navy Helicopter Landing in Eisenhower park on Saturday May 28 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM as part of the “Fleet Week 2022” activities in New York City.

A combined team of U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) members from Virginia Beach, Va. and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron SEVEN (HSC-7), known as the Dusty Dogs, from Norfolk, Va. will present a fast rope demonstration showing how a four-member EOD team can be inserted via a U.S. Navy MH-60S helicopter into an area too dangerous for a ship to navigate, while another MH-60S provides security. After the air and land demonstration, helicopters will land and be available for public tours!

"I encourage all of our residents to come out to Eisenhower Park this Memorial Day Weekend to kick off the summer season, celebrate Fleet Week, and honor the men and women who fight for our freedom. This is a spectacular event that the entire family will enjoy!” County Executive Blakeman said.
