Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man in Amityville.

 

Thomas Valentino was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on Sunrise Highway when the vehicle veered off the roadway at the intersection of Albany Avenue and struck a utility pole at approximately 2:10 a.m.

 

Valentino, 32, of Dix Hills, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

 

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
