Huntington Station Man Previously Pulled Unresponsive from Pool Has Passed Away, Police Report

On May 19, Ellery Smith was pulled unresponsive from a residential swimming pool in West Hills at approximately 2 p.m.

The man who was pulled unresponsive from a West Hills pool earlier this month has been identified as Ellery Smith, 45, of Huntington Station, and pronounced dead, according to Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives.
 
On May 19, Smith was pulled unresponsive from a residential swimming pool in West Hills at approximately 2 p.m.
 
Second Precinct officers responded to a 911 call at 367 West Hills Road on ay 19 at approximately 2 p.m. after Smith, an acquaintance of the homeowner, was found unresponsive in the swimming pool at approximately 2 p.m. A resident of the home began CPR until first responders arrived.
 
Smith was transported via ambulance to Huntington Hospital where he was listed in critical condition; he later passed away from his injuries, police say.
