NCPD: Wantagh Man Arrested Connection with January Hit-and-Run Crash that Left Pedestrian Dead

The Homicide Squad reports that an arrest has been made in connection with a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 3:40 am in South Farmingdale.
 
According to Detectives, Eighth Precinct officers responded to 116 Merrits Road for a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, officers observed Mohamed Elromi, 24, from Astoria lying in the roadway with severe head trauma. A short bed silver/grey pick-up truck struck the victim and left the scene prior to police arrival. 
 
A Nassau County Police Department Ambulance transported Elromi to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased by a hospital physician shortly after arrival.
 
Homicide Squad Detectives report the arrest of Christopher Rosselli, 24, of 69 Twin Lane North, Wantagh on Tuesday, May 28 for the above incident. He is charged with one count of Leaving the Scene of an Incident Resulting in a Death. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
