PSEG Long Island employee-volunteer Diane Finocchio, of Massapequa, accepts cash donations as part of PSEG Long Island’s Power to Feed Long Island collection initiative.

PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest Food Bank thank the people of Massapequa and the surrounding communities for donating the equivalent of more than 1,800 meals at PSEG Long Island’s Power to Feed Long Island food collection on Friday, May 24. The event, held at the Stop & Shop located on the corner of Hicksville Road and Jerusalem Avenue in Massapequa, brought out dozens of community members who opened their hearts, wallets and trunks to provide cash, food, personal care items and pet supplies to their neighbors in need. As a thank you for contributing, PSEG Long Island employee-volunteers handed out reusable shopping bags and LED lightbulbs – gifts that help preserve the environment and conserve energy.

Friday’s event was the first in a summer-long food drive initiative. For additional information on PSEG Long Island’s Power to Feed Long Island, see upcoming events, learn what to donate, or how to make an online monetary donation, visit psegliny.com/feedLI.
