William Floyd High School student Julia Abbaticchio recently received the New York State Retired School Administrators and Supervisors (NYSRSAS) Citizenship Award for demonstrating the qualities of civic responsibility, concern for others and participation in the enhancement of school and community relationships!

The NYSRSAS present their Citizenship Award Certificate along with a check for $100 dollars to 11th-grade students from selected Long Island high schools. Students who received the award were nominated by their principals – with input from their teachers and guidance counselor – based on their civic participation and efforts that reflect concern for their school, community and fellow community members. This program is funded by donations from NYSRSAS executive board members.

Congratulations, Julia!
