SCPD arrested Jacob Beechem of Coram, 18, for stabbing his mother to death.

Coram, NY - May 31, 2018 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Coram teen for stabbing his mother to death on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
 
During an altercation, Jacob Beechem stabbed his mother, Donette Beechem, inside their  Coram residence at approximately 7:15 a.m. Jacob Beechem was injured as he fell out of a window attempting to flee the residence.
 
Donette Beechem, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Jacob Beechem, 18, was admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Jacob Beechem was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned at a later date.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
