The Third Precinct reports the arrest of two Hempstead men for a Robbery that occurred at 6:04 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Garden City.
According to detectives, an Asset Protection Employee of the Macys Department Store located at 630 Old Country Road, observed Kayshawn King, 18 and Jeremy Higgins, 18, both of 19 Clowes Avenue, as they concealed merchandise and passed all points of final purchase. The male employee, 23, approached both males in the vestibule and began escorting them back inside the store.
At that time, in an attempt to flee, Higgins refused to cooperate and physically resisted. After a brief struggle, the victim managed to stop Higgins outside the store and upon police arrival, Defendant Higgins and Defendant King were placed into custody without further incident.
Defendant Kayshawn King is charged with Petit Larceny and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Defendant Jeremy Higgins is charged with Petit Larceny and Robbery 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, May 31, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
