Sid Jacobson JCC and Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island present Israelfest

Written by Long Island  |  01. June 2022

Sid Jacobson JCC and Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island invite you to Israelfest, Long Island’s largest celebration of Israel on Sunday, June 12, 3-8 p.m. at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. The event will feature performances by Israeli pop star Eliad and the Long Island Cantors Ensemble, activities for all ages, dancing, and Kosher food trucks.

Israelfest was started by Sid Jacobson JCC’s Randie Waldbaum Malinsky Center for Israel in 2015 as a Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration at Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn Heights, and has grown into a larger celebration each year taking place at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the event is back and joining the Celebrate Israel Concert that Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island hosts each year at Eisenhower Park.

This year’s event features a performance from Israel’s own Eliad. Eliad began his music career in 2011 and his single “Matok Kshemarly” became one of Israel’s most successful songs of 2015.

Activities at the event include face painting, writing letters to Israel Defence Force soldiers, pita making, a replica of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, art projects, dancing, and more. Food will be available to purchase from Kosher food trucks.

Admission and parking for the event is free. Parking is available at Eisenhower Park’s Fields 6/6A and Israelfest takes place at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the day.
