Developers are proposing to tear down the existing gas station at the intersection of Patchogue Holbrook Road and the north service road to the LIE at Exit 61 and replace it with a new Bolla Market.

Seeking final site plan approval, engineers who represented the development company said that the new gas station would add two pumps to the existing six already there for a total of eight double-sided pumps and raze the existing 473-sq-ft convenience store to build a new 1,920-sq-ft Bolla Market.

Among other changes to the structure are demoing the external bathroom building and bringing restrooms inside the market, shifting the location of the air pumps to the Patchogue Holbrook Road side of the property, and replacing the existing sign with a monument-style design.

They also made reference to a 1984 approved site plan for the property.

At a Brookhaven Town Planning Board meeting the company’s representatives said that a typical Bolla convenience store has three or four employees working per shift.

There was no set date for construction to begin or an estimated time for completion of the project.
