Sound Beach NY, May 2013 – Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker recently attended the Sound Beach Civic Association’s Memorial Day services on Monday, May 27. The service took place at the Sound Beach Veterans Memorial Park.

“I commend the Sound Beach Civic Association for their commitment to memorializing our heroes,” said Legislator Anker. “We owe so much to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”

The ceremony began at noon and was attended by various groups in the community. Participants included local veterans and their family members, students from Miller Place and Rocky Point High School Music Departments, local boy scouts and girl scouts, and the Sound Beach Fire Department.
