Legislators Bynoe and Davis present a Nassau County Legislature Citation to James Garner, seated next to New York State Attorney General Letitia James, in recognition of his historic achievements and leadership in the Village of Hempstead.

Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Siela A. Bynoe (D – Westbury) and Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined the Hempstead community on Saturday, June 1 in celebrating former Hempstead Mayor James Garner at a farewell barbecue at Kennedy Memorial Park. 
 
The event was held as a tribute to Garner, who became New York State’s first Black mayor upon his election, prior to his relocating to North Carolina.
