Officials Report Pedestrian Killed While Walking Across East Farmingdale Roadway

The male pedestrian, who has yet to be identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene, SCPD says.

SCPD are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in East Farmingdale.

East Farmingdale, NY - June 4, 2018 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in East Farmingdale on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
 
A man entered the roadway at the southbound State Route 109 overpass at Southern State Parkway at approximately 10:41 p.m. when he was struck by a 2018 Toyota Camry driven by a man.
 
The male pedestrian, who has yet to be identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The driver and an eyewitness remained at the scene, and there were no other injuries. The Camry was impounded for a safety check.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the crash or the identity of the victim to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
