Suffolk County Police today arrested a Bay Shore man for committing multiple burglaries during the past two months.
Francisco Maldonado attempted to burglarize Marinelli Jewelers, located at 7 Eastport Manor Road in Eastport, on June 4 at approximately 2:35 a.m. Maldonado was arrested a short time later on Montauk Highway in Eastport.
An investigation by Major Case Unit detectives determined Maldonado was responsible for three additional burglaries and a grand larceny. Maldonado burglarized BP Gas Station, located at 1680 North Ocean Ave. in Holtsville, on April 18, Kitchen Designs and More, located at 4100 Sunrise Highway in Oakdale, on May 7, and Original Michelangelo of Eastport Pizzeria and Restaurant, located at 11 Eastport Manor Road in Eastport, on May 27. During the burglaries, Maldonado stole cash and property.
Maldonado also used a stolen credit card to make a purchase at Home Deport, located at 475 Commack Road in Deer Park, on May 14.
Maldonado, 42, of 1B Hemlock Drive, was charged with three counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, one count of Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree, one count of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, and Resisting Arrest. He will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 5.
