TRAVEL ADVISORY: Overnight Closures at the Interchange of Southern State Parkway and Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead, Nassau County

The closures are to facilitate bridge and highway maintenance, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of the following closures at the interchange of the Meadowbrook State Parkway and the Southern State Parkway in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, June 6, and continuing until 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting, to facilitate bridge and highway maintenance:

  • The northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway will be closed at Exit M6W (Southern State Parkway). Vehicles will be detoured onto westbound Southern State Parkway to Exit 21 for Nassau Boulevard southbound, to eastbound Southern State Parkway, to Exit 24N for Merrick Avenue northbound, to westbound Southern State Parkway, to Exit 22N for northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway.  
  • The Exit 22N ramp on eastbound Southern State Parkway will be closed. Motorists should continue eastbound to Exit 24N for Merrick Avenue northbound to westbound Southern State Parkway, to Exit 22N for northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway.
