FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following county, Suffolk. * WHEN...Until 130 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Some roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1016 AM EDT, Flooding is ongoing within the warned area. Between 6 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. Some specific flooded locations include Stony Brook which had Harbor Road collapse earlier due to a nearby pond overflowing and County Road 83 north of Route of 25. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected through early this afternoon. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... NCPD are investigating an occupied burglary that occurred in Massapequa Park on Sunday, 6/4.

Massapequa Park, NY - June 5, 2017 - Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an occupied burglary that occurred in Massapequa Park on Sunday, 06/04/17 at 5:33 A.M.
 
According to detectives, a male victim, 22, while asleep in his residence located on May Place, heard a noise inside, got up and began to walk the house, where he encountered a male subject. The subject, whose face was covered, was holding a large kitchen knife and demanded money.  
 
A struggle ensued inside the side door and the victim suffered multiple stab wounds to both hands and one to his chest. The victim’s aunt and uncle heard the commotion and came to his aid. The victim’s aunt, 65, was punched in the ribs. 
 
The subject fled north on foot. Both victims were transported to area hospitals.
 
The subject is described as a male, white and 5’ 11” tall. He is approximately 20-25 years old.  No further description is available.
