The Third Squad reports the Arrest of a Roosevelt man for Grand Larceny (Attempt) that occurred on Tuesday, June 04, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in Manhasset.

 

According to detectives, an 85 year old male victim received a phone call on June 3rd from an unknown person stating his grandson needed money because he had been arrested in Atlantic City. The victim was instructed to withdraw $8,000 and bring it to a location on Plandome Road. The victim complied and gave the money to an unknown person. On June 4th, he received another phone call stating his grandson needed more money for his legal fees. He was instructed to withdraw $5,000 and bring it to the same location. The victim then contacted the police. When detectives responded to the location with the victim, they were approached by defendant George Rodriguez, 31. The defendant was taken into custody without incident.

 

George Rodriguez is charged with Grand Larceny (Attempt) 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
