Officials: Uniondale Man Caught in Possession of Multiple Fraudulent Credit Cards

Glen Cove, NY – June 7, 2017 – The Major Case Bureau reports an arrest for Possession of a Forged Instrument on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 3:05 pm in Glen Cove.
 
According to Crimes Against Property detectives, Stephane D. Gentilus, 20, of Uniondale was observed by an off duty Glen Cove police officer attempting to make purchases at Walgreens located at 93 Forest Avenue with fraudulent credit cards.  
 
After being denied the purchase, the suspect went back in the store at which time the officer exited and called police. Gentilus then made a purchase including two gift cards in excess of $400 using fraudulent cards. He was stopped attempting to flee the scene in his vehicle by Glen Cove police and was placed under arrest without incident. 
 
At the time of his arrest he was found to be in possession of six fraudulent credit cards and a MSR X6 card reader/writer. An investigation also revealed Gentilus has two open Nassau County Bench warrants for Petit Larceny and Disorderly Conduct for an incident that occurred in East Garden City on January 8, 2016.
 
Gentilus is charged with six counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree and Possession of a Forgery Device. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
