Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash in Selden

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Selden today.

Selden, NY - June 8th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Selden today.

Shuming Fan was driving a 2006 Ford van eastbound on Route 25 when his vehicle struck a pedestrian approximately 75 feet west of Bicycle Path at 11:05 a.m.

The pedestrian, Sean Slatterly, 56, of Smithtown, was transported by Selden Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Fan, 46, of Flushing, was not injured.

Detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
