LI's Adorable Adoptables is a weekly column by Allison Matos, a lifelong Long Island resident who has been advocating animal adoption since 2012. Allison's weekly posts highlight local animals in need of adoption, and cover general animal welfare topics as well.

Ames is a 4 year old male who was brought to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter by a good Samaritan back in December. He had an injured front paw, but has been fixed-up good as new and now he's ready for his furever home!  Ames likes other cats and if your lap needs a friend, Ames is perfect for you. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. Ames did test positive for FIV but can lead a full, long life. He is currently living with multiple other cats and loves it! Please call for more information: 516-785-5220 or come visit us at: 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh NY 11793.

Last Hope Animal Rescue sees pets that have been surrendered to shelters for many reasons...for Brinkley and Monkey, their loving owner is ill and can no longer offer the wonderful care she once did.   Brinkley (tabby) and Monkey (orange) are two 9 year old boys are described as sweet and very affectionate.  These two peas-in-a-pod love people and would love to be the new additions to your home. If you can open your home to these 2 brothers, please contact Last Hope and also check out their webpage.

As always, thank you for reading!  Please remember to always adopt, never shop...pass it on!
