Local “Angels” Honored at First Annual Angel Awards
Smithtown, NY - June 10, 2016 - On Tuesday, June 7, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker honored 23 outstanding women at the First Annual Angel Awards, sponsored by the Equity First Foundation, at the Stonebridge Country Club in Smithtown.
The Angel Awards aim to empower women to participate fully in economic life across all business sectors and to participate in local community activism as it is essential to building stronger economies and improving the quality of life for families and communities.
“The empowerment of women is essential to achieve sustainable development,” said Legislator Anker. “Women are becoming a strong force in business, government, and in their local communities. I am proud to honor all of the selfless women who go above and beyond to give back.”
The women who were honored at the Angel Awards included: Deidre Renwick, Diane Caputi, Donna Ehresman, Donna Drake, Doreen Guma, Dorian Stern, Jordan Belous, Julie DeLaney, Karen Sullivan, Lauren Coffey, Leslyn Stewart, Miriam Hubbard, Priscilla Arena, Riva Schwartz, Stacey Wohl, Susan Glenn, Susan Hamblen, Suzanne Beck, Tai Vicari, Terrie Magro, Tracey Densieski, Victoria Trigone, and Wendy Rodriguez.
