Suffolk County SPCA Detectives Charge Brentwood Man With Starving His Pit Bull

Brentwood, NY - June 11, 2018 - On Friday, June 8, 2018 a Brentwood man was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
 
After a lengthy and comprehensive investigation, Willie Jordan, 47, was charged with one (1) count of animal cruelty for failure to provide provide proper sustenance, including food, to his dog Bruce, a 2 year old male pit bull. The severely emaciated dog was immediately taken to a Veterinary Hospital where aggressive life saving medical care was provided. The dog has since been adopted by a veterinary technician from the Animal Hospital.

Jordan was arrested without incident by SPCA detectives at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018. He was released on station house bail, and his court date for arraignment is August 9, 2018.
 
Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County. If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.  
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
